Need to know how to undamagingly remove cumbersome nicotine stains from some equipment i own?
i recently purchased two pieces of equipment(sewing machines) that came from a shop that the operator smoked VERY heavly.this has caused the machines to be covered beside nicotine.i wish to clean them up but i can't use soap & dampen in any great amount due to it getting into the internal workings & causing problems. So, anyone out in attendance know how to remove this STUFF?

Rubbing Alcohol is really great to get rid of tar. It evaporates fast. If it is resistant add table .salt
Try rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth.

DENATURED alcohol will work better. Wear chemical gloves when using - unless you are a smoker... else you will occupy nice doses of nicotine and alcohol in to your system. Great for heavy smokers and drinkers... YEAH!!
I always use Lysol Orange Wipes for all my sturdy cleaning--grease off my range hood, rubber stains out of the dryer (after my daughter's assinine bf dried his black shoes within there). I have never found the stain that these cloths won't clean.
And I agree near the other answerer who told you to wear heavy duty rubber gloves. You absolutely do not want any of that gunk contained by your system.
spray 409 on a daily towel.

The unmarked Formula 409 for any surface. This product is awesome for cigarrette, grease stains. A little goes a long way too.
try some little one oil on cotton wool that should pocket it out
